Anniversary beer trio planned by Beau’s

Vankleek Hill – In celebration of its 10th anniversary, Beau’s All Natural Brewing Co. has announced three new beer releases coming this July 2016.

Batch 5000 Wild Farmhouse Ale (7%) –  brewed with all-Ontario sourced ingredients including the wild yeast acquired from Escarpment Labs. “The aroma is tropical, with a backdrop of earthy barnyard and red wine barrel. The flavour impressions are peppery, with mild heat. The finish is tannic and dry, with lingering spice. As noted, it marks Beau’s five-thousandth batch of beer,” says Beau’s.

Old Skål Oud Bruin (8%) –  a collaboration with Denmark’s Kissmeyer Beer, this oud bruin is infused with dates and maple syrup then aged 40 months in pinot noir barrels followed by bottle-conditioning  offering tart, tannic cherry notes and a hint of hazelnut, according to the brewers.

Two Tonnes of Fun Barleywine (10.5%) – Teamed up with Portland’s Gigantic Brewing, this American-style Barleywine releases features an eight-hour boil time using two tonnes of pale malt offering a  full-bodied, luxuriant barleywine that exhibits flavours reminiscent of figgy pudding, says Beau’s brewmaster Matthew O’Hara.

“The long-boil method is the traditional way that British brewers used to make barleywine,” adds O’Hara. “The technique increases the Maillard reaction taking place in the boil, transforming the wort from its original golden hue to a deep copper. It also intensifies the treacle-like and caramel flavours in the beer.”

All three beers will be released on Saturday July 2, 2016 in 650ml bottles available from the brewery.
