Union Jack Brewing shuts down in Sault Ste Marie
Sault Ste Marie – Union Jack Brewing Co. – which launched in May 2015 – has closed its brewery and retail store in Sault Ste Marie, according to SooToday.
Rejection by the LCBO and other commitments by brewery owner Jordan Jack were cited as reasons for closing.
SooToday writes, “sales generated through Union Jack’s retail location and commercial clients weren’t profitable enough to carry the brewery’s operation and staffing costs. Had he been available to spend more time at the brewery, it would likely still be open.”
The facility is currently listed for sale, however, Jack says if it does not sell, he may rebrand Union Jack and relaunch in the coming year.
