Waller St. Brewing launches this week in Ottawa

Ottawa, ON – Waller St. Brewing, named for its resident street in Ottawa, will launch its first beer at the end of this week.

Waller St.’s Speakeasy Red is a self-described “Belgian American Red Rye Session IPA” weighing in at 4.4% ABV with 30 IBUs. The brewery plans to also release a porter and blonde ale.

The 1000 sq.-ft. 1930s prohibition-era themed brewing space, at 14 Waller St., features custom wood-cladded fermenters and will host a retail store and tasting bar upon opening at later date. The team behind it, two former bridge engineers, include head brewer Marc-André Chainey and Eli Dagher.

A distillery is also in the plans.

The inaugaural keg of Speakeasy Red will be available exclusively at on Friday, February 20, 2015 at the Lunenberg Pub & Bar in Ottawa.
