Georgian Bay Vodka batch recalled by LCBO

Toronto – The LCBO has issued a recall of Georgian Bay Vodka after consultation with the Georgian Bay Gin Co. due to a higher than labelled alcohol content.

The affected product has been removed from the shelves of all LCBO stores. 654 selling units were produced in this batch and shipped to LCBO

This recall was initiated after the discovery that during production one batch (Batch #19) was bottled before correct dilution to achieve the stated 40% alcohol content by volume. As a result, the affected batch has an ABV of 81%.

The recalled product is listed below:

LCBO No.: 446559
Brand Description: Georgian Bay Vodka
Lot Codes: Batch 19

This product is not safe for consumption. Consuming a product with an alcohol content of 80% could cause serious illness, says the LCBO. Customers and licensees are encouraged to return the recalled product to any LCBO store for a full refund.
