Griffin barrel-aged SESSION Saison 2-pack launches at LCBO

session2Bracebridge, ON – Introduced originally for the 2014 SESSION Toronto Craft Beer, the Griffin SESSION Saison is being released in two barrel-aged iterations this week at LCBOs.

The 7.5% ABV SESSION Saison, brewed with lemon verbena, was aged ten months in both red and white Ontario wine barrels.

“During the original brewing process, we stowed 20 hectoliters of beer into both Ontario Cabernet and Ontario Chardonnay barrels,” explains brewmaster Sam Corbeil. “The barrel-aged [version] is very dry with a hint of lemon. The mouth-feel brings hints of buttery oak and sour fruit. This beer has HUGE flavor and is a wonderful celebratory beer.”

Griffin co-founder Jed Corbeil remarks, “It is so great to work with the fine publicans of Toronto and see the like-mindedness and the passion for craft beer and community. The launch of the barrel aged SESSION Saison hopes to raise awareness of our community of passionate beer lovers, Griffin SESSION Toronto craft beer festival focuses on unique beer and will be unveiling a barrel aged tasting section for 2015.”

Launching this Friday, December 5, 2014 in a boxed 2-pack of 650mL bottles, the barrel-aged SESSION Saison will retail for $19.95 at LCBO locations in the GTA.
